Our latest broadcast commercial project for Western Michigan University showcases our collaborative expertise and versatility. Partnering with Daniel Brian Advertising, we embarked on a journey that took us from the bustling streets of New York to various locations across West Michigan. A highlight of this campaign was filming at Bark Box in downtown Manhattan. Despite operating with a lean team of five, we successfully captured high-quality footage that met and exceeded the expectations of both DBA and WMU. This project stands as a testament to our ability to deliver exceptional results, even with a compact crew.

CLIENT: WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY

PROJECT: Haworth College of Business Videos
PRODUCTION: 5-Person Crew, 15 Days of Filming
DELIVERABLES: 19 Videos in Multiple Formats.
NOTES: For the Western Michigan University School of Business, we embarked on an extensive project to create a series of videos, each highlighting the journey of a student from different majors within the college. Spending a half-day with each student, we delved into their experiences, supplemented by additional off-campus shoots to enrich the narrative. These videos stand as excellent examples of short story-videos, each one focused on a single subject, bringing to life the diverse paths and perspectives of the students at WMU School of Business.

NOTES: In 2018 and 2019, Overneath had the privilege of partnering with Oakland University on a dynamic series of videos. Our collaboration with the OU team was not just productive but also immensely enjoyable. We focused on creating a diverse array of content that highlighted various aspects of the university experience. including student experiences, upcoming events, and building tours.

NOTES: This video is part of the marketing campaign we collaborated on with Oakland University during 2018 and 2019. It specifically spotlights the Oakland Center, offering viewers an engaging tour of this key facility on campus.

PROJECT: Orientation Modules
PRODUCTION: 4-Person Crew, 3 Days of Filming
DELIVERABLES: 7 Videos for Orientation Modules
NOTES: As the pandemic receded and Western Michigan University adapted to a more virtual environment, we were brought on board to innovate the orientation experience. Our task was to create engaging and enjoyable videos to introduce each section of the new virtual orientation modules. With a dynamic and efficient production crew, we filmed across WMU’s campus, capturing a series of lively videos that featured actual students. This project exemplified our ability to swiftly adapt to changing circumstances and produce content that is both entertaining and informative.

PROJECT: Orientation – “Wellness Wheel”
PRODUCTION: Fully Animated Explainer with characters. 
DELIVERABLES: One Long-Form Informational Video
NOTES: Amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Western Michigan University entrusted us with creating diverse content for their new student orientation. One of the standout pieces was the Wellness Wheel, originally conceptualized by WMU’s health center. Overneath brought this idea to life through custom animation, effectively communicating the concept to new students in an engaging and visually appealing manner.

CLIENT: SOUTH DAKOTA DEPT OF EDUCATION

PROJECT: Birth to Three Program Videos
PRODUCTION: 3-Person Crew, 8 Days of Filming
DELIVERABLES: Eight Videos of Varying Lengths
NOTES: Our work with the South Dakota Department of Education involved telling a variety of stories, each captured in half to full-day filming sessions. These stories, rich in detail and character, were brought to life through our editing team’s expertise in weaving together interviews and client narratives. The result was a series of compelling and visually engaging stories. 

CLIENT: VICTORIA COLLEGE

PROJECT: CTE Track Videos
PRODUCTION: Writing and Editing using Stock Media and Provided Assets
DELIVERABLES: 6 :30s-:60s Videos
NOTES: Our partnership with Victoria College in Victoria, Texas, exemplifies our adaptability in remote collaborations. We have been consistently creating videos for VC, leveraging both stock imagery and materials supplied by the college. A notable project is the “Your Community, Your College” campaign, conceptualized by Overneath’s creative team with valuable insights from VC’s marketing team. These videos were not only tailored for online platforms but also transformed into broadcast spots. To broaden their reach, we produced alternate versions featuring Spanish voiceovers and on-screen text, catering to a diverse audience.

PROJECT: Student Experience Vignette 2023
PRODUCTION: 5-Person Production Teams, 4.5 Days of filming
DELIVERABLES: One 3-5 Minute Vignette.
NOTES: Since 2020, Overneath has been crafting poignant student experience vignettes for Western Michigan University. Premiering at graduation and available online, these videos celebrate the graduates’ collegiate journeys. We collaborate with the President’s Office and the Registrar to select and storyboard students’ stories, then film on campus, capturing the essence of their university experience. These vignettes have become cherished mementos for students and their families, marking a significant milestone as they step into the world post-graduation.

CLIENT: WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY

PROJECT: “Future Focus”
PRODUCTION: 1 half-day with 3-person production crew
DELIVERABLES: 4x 8-10 minute videos, filmed throughout the year
NOTES: In response to the shift to virtual events, Western Michigan University commissioned Overneath to create a series of videos featuring University President, Dr. Montgomery. These videos, designed to inform, inspire, and engage the university community, were produced throughout the year, adapting to the new virtual format. Our collaboration with Dr. Montgomery was integral in ensuring these messages resonated effectively with students, faculty, and staff during a time of significant transition.

CLIENT: KELLOGG

PROJECT: “Life at K”
PRODUCTION: 5 Full-days of production with two 3-person crews
DELIVERABLES: One 1-2 Minute Video
NOTES: This Kellogg global recruitment campaign aimed to highlight the immense diversity of locations and nationalities represented at one of the world’s most recognized brands. With small but well-equipped crews, Overneath embarked on a journey to India, Mexico, and Ireland, in addition to various locations within the US, to capture the essence of this spot. The production features custom music, skillful sound design, and real people and voices from the Kellogg Company, creating a truly authentic and impactful campaign.

CLIENT: SPARROWS COFFEE

PROJECT: “Keep the Inspiration Pouring”
PRODUCTION: 2 Full-days, 2 Locations
DELIVERABLES: One Mini film, One 60-Second Spot
NOTES: Drawing inspiration from French New Wave cinema, this spot features amateur actors portraying a diverse array of characters. The production showcases original sound design, premium camera equipment, and captures an abundance of sad French people on a beach.
