Hurdles & Highlights

“Trust the Comp”

Drew had one vision for the campaign’s final shot: soldiers on a ridge overlooking Mt. Rainier. After a 1.5-hour trek to the overlook on the one clear night of the shoot, fog rolled in and swallowed the mountain — so DP Chad Terpstra made the call: shoot it anyway, and “trust the comp.” In post, Overneath’s Jeremy Davidson composited Rainier back into the frame, and the shot became the signature image of the campaign.

Mission Debrief

The Results:

6.5M+ campaign views on YouTube

The campaign aired regionally surrounding Washington — the Guard’s first large-scale video project. They loved the process, the communication, and every deliverable. Mission accomplished.
